First Impression
Q: How did you first hear about Two Lines?
A: Through my sister. She got pregnant one year before I did, and she came to Two Lines Pregnancy Clinic. She told me about how well they cared for her, so when I got pregnant, I went to Two Lines.
First Visit
Q: What was your first pregnancy clinic appointment like at Two Lines?
A: When I first came to Two Lines, I was already six weeks pregnant. My mom and I didn’t have a good connection at the time I got pregnant. I didn’t tell my mom I was pregnant. I didn’t know how to tell her I was pregnant. But, I came here to Two Lines and I talked to them, and they helped me. Especially through the videos it helped me know how to tell my mom, so I could rebuild that connection. And now we are connected again.
Q: What was the initial pregnancy-care like at Two Lines?
A: I did a sonogram right away and then was given a chance to connect with a counselor. I connected deeply with two of them right away—Amy and Julie especially.
Families Re-connected
Q: Who was with you when you gave birth?
A: My mom and grandma were with me. My grandma drove all the way from Basehor to the hospital to be with me. Which was amazing. A lot of grandmas wouldn’t do that for their grand daughters. But they were both with me the entire time. My mom took an entire week off of work to be with me at the hospital and then return home. I can’t imagine having done it without them. And they might not have been without the help I received from Two Lines.
Care Beyond Birth
Q: What was it like to start raising your son on your own?
A: I wasn’t financially stable when Julien was born. I wasn’t sure I would be able to do it. But Two Lines has supported me the whole time…the whole time. Maybe the best thing they’ve done is connect me with other single moms who are doing what I’m doing. They have given amazing advice and I feel like I know what to do moving forward.
They also provided me with so much baby supplies. Most of what I have for Julien has come from Two Lines.
